lodge cast iron GIVEAWAY
[CLOSED]
It's my 500th post and time to celebrate!!
I've gotten into the habit of giving away things that I don't have, but want, so here we go again today! Three big winners of this giveaway will receive this super cool Lodge Cast Iron dutch oven / skillet combo set! You can use the bottom as a stock pot or in the oven as a dutch oven and the lid doubles as a skillet! How cool is that?!
If you've never cooked with cast iron, it will really help you take your cooking to the next level. Because it's super thick and heavy, it heats evenly and can get really hot, which will help with browning and charring.
What else can you do with this awesome piece of cookery? You can bake no-knead bread in there to get an extra crispy crust! You could probably use the skillet part in the oven to make deep dish pizzas too. The thick iron works very similarly to a pizza stone.
So, the question you have to answer to enter the giveaway is...
I may have asked this question before, but it always gets fun answers and there are a lot of new people around these days :)

It's got to be cheese (as most here agree!). Cheese is just the best. From simple (nice slices of sharp cheddar, crusty bread, cold grapes) to comforting (cheesy potatoes in any form, grilled cheese), to decadent (mac 'n cheese, brie, oh yum!), to even sweet (mascarpone, strawberry and goat cheese bruscetta).
Excuse me, I need to go eat some cheese

Does coffee count? Food wise I would die without my Chobani fat free Greek yogurt! Add some fresh fruit and it kills an ice cream craving.

I couldn't live without garlic. It makes everything better, and can make a "nothing" meal (like plain noodles) into a "something" meal (plain noodles WITH GARLIC!). If I am grocery shopping, I can guarantee I'll leave with garlic, because I did run out once, and I never want to repeat that meal again.

A warm & crusty french baguette, fresh out of the oven. I shamelessly patrol the bakery section of my local grocery store, squeezing every baguette I can find until I find the warmest one!

Dumplings.
Prefectly sized. Perfectly stuffed. Boiled, steamed or fried. (yes please!) Sweet or savory. Great on their own or as a side dish. They come with soo many different combinations of stuffings!
It almost seems like cheating to pick them because they can be made with (and made to go with) virtually anything!

I would have to chose bacon. I remember being pre-kindergarten (and that was a loooong time ago!) and telling someone that my favorite foods were: chocolate cake, lasagna & bacon. Only bacon remains on my top list--Nothing makes a weekend breakfast better than bacon, nothing ups the ante on my special deviled eggs than bacon, and nothing can make me ditch all caloric-cares faster than a piece (or 3) of nice crispy bacon!
