lodge cast iron GIVEAWAY
[CLOSED]
It's my 500th post and time to celebrate!!
I've gotten into the habit of giving away things that I don't have, but want, so here we go again today! Three big winners of this giveaway will receive this super cool Lodge Cast Iron dutch oven / skillet combo set! You can use the bottom as a stock pot or in the oven as a dutch oven and the lid doubles as a skillet! How cool is that?!
If you've never cooked with cast iron, it will really help you take your cooking to the next level. Because it's super thick and heavy, it heats evenly and can get really hot, which will help with browning and charring.
What else can you do with this awesome piece of cookery? You can bake no-knead bread in there to get an extra crispy crust! You could probably use the skillet part in the oven to make deep dish pizzas too. The thick iron works very similarly to a pizza stone.
So, the question you have to answer to enter the giveaway is...
I may have asked this question before, but it always gets fun answers and there are a lot of new people around these days :)

I actually just bought my first cast iron skillet. It is great! I would love to have that dutch oven. Hmm... I think I will have to go with a lot of the other comments and say I couldn't live without pizza. It is just such a great combination of flavors (and food groups!).

It's sort of pseudo-food, but a nice, ice-cold glass of milk. There are just so many foods that are not worth it to me to eat if I don't have cold milk to drink with it: anything with peanut butter or chocolate in it, any sort of sweet bread (pancakes, waffles, cake, banana bread, etc), any warm cereal (oatmeal, baked oatmeal, cream of wheat), not to mention having milk on cold cereals, and of course - any baked goods (chocolate chip cookies!).

Funny that we're all addicted to cheese (myself included.) There's a reason for that - the casein breaks down into casomorphins, natural opiates similar to morphine (but in a much smaller dose). Researchers speculate that casomorphins in milk strongly contribute to the infant-mother bond.

"What is one food you could not live without?"
Cookies. In all its shapes and forms, cookies are my comfort food. I made a chipotle chocolate-chip cookie once, by accident, and mastered the sweet/salty/spicy combination. Woohoo!

Good, crusty, chewy bread. So cheap to make, and it always ends up better than the spongey store-bought bread.

The one food I could not live without has to be fat free plain Greek yogurt. It's so versatile! I use it in sweet and savory recipes, and it's awesome just as it is - maybe with a little fresh fruit added in. Cheap eatin'!!

ONE food? I don't even know if I can narrow it down to a food GROUP! I'm very much a fruit and veggie girl, so perhaps I'd say bananas. But my answer might change a day from now, heck, even 10 minutes from now!

I've been getting local honey in mass quantities for a few years now and have almost completely replaced sugar with it. I fear the day I move out of this rural area and might actually have to pay a high price for honey. I can't imagine life without it.

I could not live without chicken broth. Whether it comes from concentrate, from a can, or straight from the chicken... I must have it. It is a main part of my diet (in soups and stews, obvs) and I'd probably be dead of starvation without it.

This is easy. Organic Chicken! Hands down serve it cold, hot, leftover, parts, whole. My only issue is my Husband like the white and the kids and I like dark meat. So we switch. It's never "oh, this again" because it so versatile.
