4 WEEKS of GIVEAWAYS
week #3 [CLOSED]
In the continuing celebration of Budget Bytes reaching 10,000 RSS subscribers, I bring you Week #3 of the 4 Weeks of Giveaways!
So, you know I'm obsessed with pizza, right? Well, I am. Pizza is like a blank canvas to which you can apply any flavor, color, or texture. It's pure magic.
But to get a really great pizza, you need a stone pizza oven... or a PIZZA STONE!
So, I'm giving one away. Actually, not just a pizza stone, but also a pizza cutter and pizza peel (the wooden paddle that is used to transfer your raw pizza onto the hot stone). I hope there are many, many delicious pizzas in your future!
This week's contest entry question is:
Since I don't make cookies very often, I decided to turn this giveaway into a Christmas cookie exchange. You can either just name your favorite Christmas cookie or share it with everyone by leaving a link or URL to the recipe. I can't wait to hear your favorites!

My father's family makes a cookie they simply call 'White Cookies', they are a shortbread based cookie with nuts rolled and baked, then the balls are immediately dropped into a powdered sugar/red and green sprinkle bag and shaken. SO GOOD.

Mexican wedding cake cookies! My mother has made them since I was a little girl (I'm 62 now). She would freeze them for the holidays. My brother and I would get into them after school. For awhile, my mother wondered what was going on. She eventually figured it out. Now, at 82, she continues to make them for the Christmas holiday. In fact, she made them just yesterday. She always prepares a container for my brother and I to take with us after our Christmas family gathering.

My favorite Christmas cookie is the candy-cane cookie my Mom makes. It's a shortbread (I think) cookie, one part regular cookie, and the other part with cinnamon red-hots mixed in and dyed red. The two parts are twisted together into a candy-cane shape, and they are tasty. Not too sweet, either, so you can eat a lot of them and not fee guilty.

My favorite cookie is one my grandma made when I was growing up. It is called " Mamaw's Monster Cookie" It starts with standard chocolate chip cookie dough and oatmeal cookie dough mixed, but then it has extra cinnamon and nutmeg and then has milk & semi sweet chocolate chips, walnut chunks, and golden raisins. I know it sounds like a mess but it reminds me of my grandma every time I make them with my daughter.

THESE are the ones.
The shoestring licorice can be hard to find, but you can get the pull apart twizzler, works just as well. Kids, adults, everyone loves these. :)

My mother always made Tollhouse chocolate-chip cookies with walnuts for Christmas gifts, and honestly it never got any better than popping a fresh, still gooey one of those in my mouth just after it came out of the oven. I don't know why she only made them around the holidays, but it's probably better that she did -- I was already a chubbette without a constant stream of cookies!

My favorite cookies would have to be these vegan chocolate chip cookies because they're simple to make and very tasty! Plus, I almost always have these ingredients already, so I can make them on impulse if I see dark chocolate chips at the store.

I'm actually not much of a fan of cookies--blasphemy, I know. But my favorite Christmas cookies are these: http://www.delish.com/recipefinder/apricot-pinwheels-1715 I make them with lemon or berry jam instead of apricot jam and either dried cherries or strawberries in place of dried apricots. Not technically Christmas-y, I know, but it works for me.
