4 WEEKS of GIVEAWAYS
week #3 [CLOSED]
In the continuing celebration of Budget Bytes reaching 10,000 RSS subscribers, I bring you Week #3 of the 4 Weeks of Giveaways!
So, you know I'm obsessed with pizza, right? Well, I am. Pizza is like a blank canvas to which you can apply any flavor, color, or texture. It's pure magic.
But to get a really great pizza, you need a stone pizza oven... or a PIZZA STONE!
So, I'm giving one away. Actually, not just a pizza stone, but also a pizza cutter and pizza peel (the wooden paddle that is used to transfer your raw pizza onto the hot stone). I hope there are many, many delicious pizzas in your future!
This week's contest entry question is:
Since I don't make cookies very often, I decided to turn this giveaway into a Christmas cookie exchange. You can either just name your favorite Christmas cookie or share it with everyone by leaving a link or URL to the recipe. I can't wait to hear your favorites!

Snowball cookies! (aka Italian wedding cookies)
- Mix 1 cup butter with 1/2 cup confectioners sugar, add 1 tsp almond extract
- Add in 2 cups flour, 1/2 tsp salt, 1/2 cup chopped walnuts.
Bake at 350 until bottoms are golden brown (~10 min)
Immediately after removing from oven, place in bowl of confectioners sugar to coat, then let cool.

Every year, I make Peppermint XXXmas (that's right, triple-x) cookies for my dad, who is a huge peppermint fan, and they are damn tasty.
This started out as a mere chocolate cookie recipe, but has transformed into oh so much more. I add a tablespoon of peppermint oil to the dough, a few drops of peppermint extract, and then 2 tablespoons of coco powder. Then, in goes both semi-sweet and white chips, as well as some crushed starlight mints.
They are super-Minty, Wonderfully chocolatey, and absolutely SCREAM Christmas!

Every year, my mom makes these cream cheese cookies that we have to use a cookie press for and we would decorate them with colored sugar! We have all kinds of plates for the cookie press, but my faves are the looooooong ribbon cookies. My dad & I always used to let the ribbon cookies bake a leeetle too long so that they got nice & golden brown.
