The idea for this blog was originally born out of my quest to spend less than $6 a day on food. Today I ran across a banner ad for The Hunger Challenge. The San Francisco Food Bank's 2009 Hunger Challenge challenges us to eat for less than $4 a day because that is the average amount a Californian on food stamps has to spend on a day's meals. Could you do it?

Join the challenge!

This is a great idea. I went to see Julie & Julia with my sister on the same day she gave me her cookbook she has been putting together for the last year. I am cooking my way though her book, but it's not cheap!!
    Good Luck

I just has my semi-annual(6/2012)Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) Food Stamp review by the AZ Dept. of Human Services and they lowered my monthly benefits to $163 that works-out out to $5.35 per day - for two adults).
