lodge cast iron GIVEAWAY
[CLOSED]
It's my 500th post and time to celebrate!!
I've gotten into the habit of giving away things that I don't have, but want, so here we go again today! Three big winners of this giveaway will receive this super cool Lodge Cast Iron dutch oven / skillet combo set! You can use the bottom as a stock pot or in the oven as a dutch oven and the lid doubles as a skillet! How cool is that?!
If you've never cooked with cast iron, it will really help you take your cooking to the next level. Because it's super thick and heavy, it heats evenly and can get really hot, which will help with browning and charring.
What else can you do with this awesome piece of cookery? You can bake no-knead bread in there to get an extra crispy crust! You could probably use the skillet part in the oven to make deep dish pizzas too. The thick iron works very similarly to a pizza stone.
So, the question you have to answer to enter the giveaway is...
I may have asked this question before, but it always gets fun answers and there are a lot of new people around these days :)

I don't think I could live without zucchini. I'm a big texture person and although zucchini doesn't really have a whole lot of flavor I absolutely love the texture. Plus you can do so many things with it.

KALE. Today I had kale in all three meals (not intentionally), and generally it ends up being at least one, typically two meals with kale. I like all varieties (and grow then all in my garden) I eat it so fast that I buy a few bunches from the farmers market to supplement what I pick from my garden. My bunny pretty much lives off of the ribs.
Yum yum

Pasta, I would say. So cheap, so many various interesting shapes, and there's about a million varieties of sauces you can make for it. I like to match up each shape of pasta with what kind of sauce should go with it (bowties for chili, wagon wheels for tomato sauce and parmesan, penne for pesto).

I am having a hard time deciding... I started with thinking about what I eat all the time, in some form: potatoes, eggs, onions, garlic, pasta, rice, cheese and tomatoes. If I had to pick just one, I would probably say potatoes, as my boyfriend is from Ireland, and I know he couldn't live without them (the cupboard is never lacking in spuds). If I had to pick one dish, I would say fried potato slices with onions and scrambled eggs, topped with cheese and a splash of ketchup. I can live off it, breakfast, lunch and dinner!
