facebook 10k GIVEAWAY! [CLOSED]
I'm still trying to wrap my head around the number 10,000, but there are indeed 10,000 followers on Budget Byte's Facebook page! Pretty unbelievable, but I'm happy to have each and every one of you! :D So, to say thanks, let's have a GIVEAWAY!!
I've survived the past 10+ years with just a basic chef's knife, a bread knife, a paring knife or two, and one, yes one, lonely steak knife. But that doesn't mean that you don't deserve more! I want some lucky soul out there to have a really great set of knives for their kitchen. So, I found this set from Chicago Cutlery that has amazing reviews and includes all of the pieces that I would want to have. Oh! And it's available for international shipping! So come one, come all!
So this was what I want to know in exchange for a giveaway entry:
Ramen noodles? PB&J? Mac n' Cheese? And if you can't remember what the first thing was, just tell me what you remember making the most when you were a kid (or adult if you didn't learn until recently) or some fond memory of a first cooking experience!
HOW TO ENTER:
a Rafflecopter giveaway

I don't know if you would consider "cooking" but the first thing I remember making with my mom when I was tiny (like 3 or 4) was Jello. She would set everything out and then I would mix it all up and stir it for as long as she'd let me. :)

Fond first cooking memories circa 3rd grade: My younger sister and our two neighbors who were our age (and practically our sisters as well) used to play iron chef, which was one of our favorite shows. Our competition ingredient was usually something simple like peanut butter, but it got us experimenting with making food at a young age. Some successes: PB and icecream between chocolate chip cookies. Some failures: pickles in milk.

The first thing I ever learned to cook was scrambled eggs, my older brother helped me make them for my parents.

The first thing I learned to make was pancakes. I have continued to work on my pancakes, both in skill and variation, and I can now proudly say I am the family pancake expert :)

I think I learned how to make boxed brownies. Except, but 'make' I mean 'smear batter all over my face'. Does that count?

The first thing I made a point of getting the recipe for and making on my own when I moved out was, I'm afraid, for my mom's hot fudge sauce. More complicated than cooking ramen, but not healthier....

I have always been coking with my family. In high school I was in charge of cooking dinner for my whole family!
