4 WEEKS of GIVEAWAYS
week #3 [CLOSED]
In the continuing celebration of Budget Bytes reaching 10,000 RSS subscribers, I bring you Week #3 of the 4 Weeks of Giveaways! So, you know I'm obsessed with pizza, right? Well, I am. Pizza is like a blank canvas to which you can apply any flavor, color, or texture. It's pure magic.
But to get a really great pizza, you need a stone pizza oven... or a PIZZA STONE!
So, I'm giving one away. Actually, not just a pizza stone, but also a pizza cutter and pizza peel (the wooden paddle that is used to transfer your raw pizza onto the hot stone). I hope there are many, many delicious pizzas in your future!
Giveaway #3 - Bialetti 4-Piece Pizza Stone Set
This week's contest entry question is:
What is your favorite Christmas cookie?
Since I don't make cookies very often, I decided to turn this giveaway into a Christmas cookie exchange. You can either just name your favorite Christmas cookie or share it with everyone by leaving a link or URL to the recipe. I can't wait to hear your favorites!

«Oldest ‹Older 1 – 200 of 514 Newer› Newest»mmm.. definitely gingersnaps!
My father's family makes a cookie they simply call 'White Cookies', they are a shortbread based cookie with nuts rolled and baked, then the balls are immediately dropped into a powdered sugar/red and green sprinkle bag and shaken. SO GOOD.
I love those ready to bake sugar cookies! They're surprisingly delicious and I love the festive decorations on them.
Date balls are my fave!
Gingersnaps are the best!
Homemade sugar cookies!!
You can't beat a good, chewy sugar cookie!
Definitely cut out cookies ... painted with colored egg yolk!
These super yummy icebox cookies - i add in pecans and craisins. I haven't made them yet this season, but i have plans to soon.
Double Chocolate chip or snickerdoodle... they are both tied for first
Homemade sugar cookies with a lovely (not too sugary) icing. And if it's got little candy decorations (gumdrops!!), even better!!!
My all time favorite cookie is Stained glass cookies. I've yet to find a recipe I can enjoy, though I might try this one soon: http://simplyrecipes.com/recipes/stained_glass_cookies/
These is nothing better than a warm homemade chocolate chip cookie. nothing fancy, i'll even take the batter.
I love, love, love my grandmother's pecan balls!
MY favorite christmas cookies are definitely frosted gingerbread cookies.
Double chocolate chip.
Shortbread cookies. Yummy! Oh, and the Danish sugar cookies that come in the tins. I could eat the whole tins worth.
pizelles
Sugar cookies, always.
My favorite are 7 layer bars. Butter, crushed graham crackers, coconut, chocolate chips, butterscotch chips, chopped walnuts, and sweetened condensed milk.
Peppermint cake cookies are far and above my favorite!
Spritz cookies! They're my FAVORITE. http://www.wilton.com/recipe/Classic-Spritz-Cookies
Mexican wedding cake cookies! My mother has made them since I was a little girl (I'm 62 now). She would freeze them for the holidays. My brother and I would get into them after school. For awhile, my mother wondered what was going on. She eventually figured it out. Now, at 82, she continues to make them for the Christmas holiday. In fact, she made them just yesterday. She always prepares a container for my brother and I to take with us after our Christmas family gathering.
Snickerdoodles!!!
nothing better than a warm chocolate chip toll house cookie. nothing fancy, I'd even eat the batter http://www.verybestbaking.com/recipes/18476/Original-NESTL%C3%89-TOLL-HOUSE-Chocolate-Chip-Cookies/detail.aspx
I love decorating (and eating) sugar cookies each year. So tasty dipped in some hot cocoa too.
Home-made sugar cookies with granulated-sugar sprinkles. (Even though I hate baking cookies)
i love the peanut butter cookies with the hershey kiss in the middle! really can't remember the name of them :[
Here in New Mexico...it's gotta be Biscochitos!!!
I love peanut butter and chocolate chip cookies, yum =)
My favorite Christmas cookie is the candy-cane cookie my Mom makes. It's a shortbread (I think) cookie, one part regular cookie, and the other part with cinnamon red-hots mixed in and dyed red. The two parts are twisted together into a candy-cane shape, and they are tasty. Not too sweet, either, so you can eat a lot of them and not fee guilty.
My nana made these cookies that we called "chocolate crinkle cookies" - they seem to be similar to Mexican Wedding Cake cookies but are triple chocolate, a bit crunchy on the outside, super gooey on the inside, and dusted with powdered sugar. YUM.
I love peanut butter cookies with a peanut butter cup in the middle!
Sugar cookies with frosting! I love making different shapes and frosting them in cute ways.
I really love Oreo Truffles. I've never made them before, but this year I'm going to try. And I'm a sucker for dipped pretzels. Yum.
I love sugar cookies!
I love "Pixies" - some people call them chocolate crinkle cookies. My email is nytova (at) gmail (dot) com
McCormick sugar cookies!
Ginger snap cookies are my favourite. Or sugar cookies. Oh gosh cookies *_*
Grandma Shook's soft sugar cookies!
Peppered Ginger Snaps. Yum!
Mmmmm big soft ginger cookies!
I have this recipe for cookies with ginger and orange, topped with powdered sugar. They are the BEST.
Or peppermint sugar cookies. I'll probably be making one or both soon.
I LOVE Snickerdoodles! They're just so delicious to dunk in peppermint tea... http://allrecipes.com/recipe/mrs-siggs-snickerdoodles/detail.aspx
Molasses cookies! Ginger snaps!
These aren't a cookie, but my parents always make homemade fried doughnuts at Christmas... Those are my favorite!
Chocolate Chip!
Snickerdoodles are my fav!!!
Either freshly made no-bakes or shortbread takes the cake for me!
Snickerdoodles!
Gingerbread - The cookie that can also build a house!
Any cookie that my girlfriend makes and let's me help decorate!
no doubt it is the peppermint crinkle cookie, feels like an after dinner mint, so refreshing but still satisfies the sweet tooth.
peppermint crinkle cookie no doubt, feels like an after dinner mint but still hits that sweet tooth.
I love really thin sugar cookies shaped into different things with colorful sprinkled sugar all over it..and a cookie called Rock Cookies my grandma used to make..
Sugar cookies with frosting! :)
gingerbread of course! it's a classic, and it will always remind me of my grandmother's house around the holidays:)
My grandma used to bake an assortment of cookies when the family came over for Thanksgiving/Christmas. Gotta say my favorite was the hershey's kiss peanut butter cookies http://www.hersheys.com/recipes/5191/Peanut-Butter-Blossoms.aspx

Hmm... it's a tossup between my mom's Snickerdoodles (not traditional, but she only makes them at Christmas!) and the classic gingerbread. I'm ready for Christmas just thinking about them!
Gingerbread for sure!

Christmas is all about the spritz cookie! Quick and easy and so many different flavors out there! Vanilla, chocolate, eggnog, cinnamon, etc.

It isn't a cookie, but I always make chocolate covered peanut butter balls at Christmas time to giveaway. They are so simple easy to adapt the recipe to vegan. Yum.
Gingerbread! Growing up my friends family made the best gingerbread cookies hands down! We have the recipe somewhere...but they never turned out as good when we made them!
My favorite cookie is one my grandma made when I was growing up. It is called " Mamaw's Monster Cookie" It starts with standard chocolate chip cookie dough and oatmeal cookie dough mixed, but then it has extra cinnamon and nutmeg and then has milk & semi sweet chocolate chips, walnut chunks, and golden raisins. I know it sounds like a mess but it reminds me of my grandma every time I make them with my daughter.

Ooooh. Sugar cookies with the shiny pink icing - soft, thin cookies with a bit of a crisp ---- I've never been able to get it quite right! One of my dad's friends used to give them to us every year and I would sneak all of the star-shaped ones :-D
Definitely frosted sugar cookies. I used to make them with my mom, and now I make them with my kids!

My mom once made up a greek cookie for an event where we needed an international snack, we now eat it every year for Christmas. Graham Crackers, baked with butter and sugar and sliced almonds.
I love every kind of Christmas cookie. :D But I'm really craving some tablet at the moment, so let's go with that today. This is the recipe I go with, though I disagree with the writer that vanilla should be added. It doesn't need any extra flavouring at all: http://www.scruss.com/tablet.html

My favorite Christmas "cookie" is something that we refer to as coated crackers. It's a PA Dutch tradition and a favorite recipe of our family. First you make a peanut butter and fluff cracker with Ritz crackers and then dip it in chocolate candy coating. Yum!
Peppermint Pinkies! My mom makes them every year and I always look forward to having (a few too many) them when I go home! I'm not sure the recipe, but I think it is a shortbread type cookie with crushed candy cane bits in it in the shape of a pinkie finger (hence the name) and then coated with a crushed candy cane frosting. Peppermint Pinky means Christmas is here! Thanks mom!

My mother always made Tollhouse chocolate-chip cookies with walnuts for Christmas gifts, and honestly it never got any better than popping a fresh, still gooey one of those in my mouth just after it came out of the oven. I don't know why she only made them around the holidays, but it's probably better that she did -- I was already a chubbette without a constant stream of cookies!

I'm actually not much of a fan of cookies--blasphemy, I know. But my favorite Christmas cookies are these: http://www.delish.com/recipefinder/apricot-pinwheels-1715 I make them with lemon or berry jam instead of apricot jam and either dried cherries or strawberries in place of dried apricots. Not technically Christmas-y, I know, but it works for me.
I like sugar cookies with lots of sprinkles and icing on top! The other day, my husband made some pumpkin cupcakes with cream cheese icing, so we garnished our sugar cookies with cream cheese icing and SO MANY sprinkles!

Russian Tea Cakes on Christmas morning with a cup of peppermint mocha flavored coffee is pretty close to Heaven for me. My mom-in-law makes these just for me - no one else will eat them...until their favorites are gone!
