magazine GIVEAWAY!

magazine cover
Because I don't have another day off to cook until Friday, I thought I'd do a little giveaway to keep everyone entertained!

I have decided to give away three (3) one year subscriptions to Bon Appetit magazine. I love this magazine because it is a great mix of simple food and adventurous, exciting cuisine. I look forward to my copy coming in the mail every month (thanks to my generous friend, Jeffrey) and I hope you will too!

I'm testing out a new contest widget below. It should make the giveaway process a lot easier and a lot more fun! To enter the giveaway you have to answer one question:

What is your guilty food pleasure?

And by that I mean the items you enjoy when no one is looking... the things that you're embarrassed to say that you actually like. Here is mine: Velveeta Shells n' Cheese. I'm scared to death of Velveeta, but I still secretly love the mac n' cheese. That may be the first time I've every told anyone. Ever.

You can also earn extra entries by either liking Budget Bytes on Facebook, or tweeting about the contest.

Here are the rules:

  1. All entries need to be submitted through the buttons on the widget below or else they won't be counted!
  2. The first entry (leaving a blog comment) is mandatory and must be completed before earning other entries.
  3. The winners must be willing to provide a valid mailing address to receive the prize. I will not use your address for any other purpose.
  4. The contest will be open from 12:01 AM 9/6/11 TO 12:01 AM 9/10/11 (Eastern Standard Time)
  5. Keep it clean. Any offensive entries will be deleted.

So, sit back, fess up, and enjoy reading the entries!

You can check the status of your entries and the final winners by checking back to this original post.

My guilty food pleasure is eating the crispy skin of the chicken after it's been roasted. I know it's really bad for you, and if anyone asked, I would say that I only roast it with the skin on to keep it moist, then I throw it away, but secretly I snack on it as I am picking all the meat off the bone.

Lesa @Edesia's Notebook | September 6, 2011 at 5:31 PM

I don't think your widget is working. It says to post your comment, then click the green "I did it" button to the right of the instructions. I am not seeing a green button anywhere. You said to leave the comment with the widget, but there's no comment form. Also at the top of the widget, it says "Contest hasn't started yet." Am I doing something wrong?

Lesa | September 6, 2011 at 5:32 PM

Okay, now it's working. Sorry!

Beth M | September 6, 2011 at 5:32 PM

Lesa - I didn't have the contest set to open until midnight tonight but I just went back and changed it. Try refreshing the page to see if you can see the green button now! Let me know if it works!

Beth M | September 6, 2011 at 5:33 PM

No prob! It was bad planning on my part! :)

Amanda Mac | September 6, 2011 at 5:34 PM

I love SPAM... slice thin, fried, and slathered in ketchup. Ew, right? lol

QuietlyGoingMad | September 6, 2011 at 5:38 PM

That spray cheese in a can. Like others squirt canned whipped cream into their mouths, I give myself a good spray of cheddar. But the way I really like it? Designer sprays on Chicken in a Biscuit crackers. Rosettes, swirls, loopy scrolls...I can do them all. Sadly, my shame is so deep nobody ever sees my artwork.

thea | September 6, 2011 at 5:40 PM

My guilty food is chipwiches! Especially homemade ones with snickerdoodles and pumpkin ice cream.

Kate | September 6, 2011 at 5:42 PM

Taco Bell. So terrible, so awful for you... but always sounds amazing at 2am.

Amy | September 6, 2011 at 5:46 PM

dibs ice cream pieces. i could eat the whole container in one sitting... as long as nobody is around :)

jenae | September 6, 2011 at 5:49 PM

Hamburgers. im pregnant and want them all the time! not the best for me!

Andrea | September 6, 2011 at 5:51 PM

Mine's a secret trip to McDonald's. Usually for a Fillet o'Fish and fries. But if I'm feeling really naughty, I'll get a couple double cheeseburgers. The remnants don't even make it to my trash can, they go straight to the apartment dumpster.

Anonymous | September 6, 2011 at 5:58 PM

Chocolate icing straight out of the can. I can't keep it in my house because I always succumb to it.

Andi

Nicole | September 6, 2011 at 6:07 PM

Air popcorn. Sounds healthy, but I cover it with butter and salt, the most the better. I have been know to eat that as my meal. Whole grain, right???

Philip | September 6, 2011 at 6:09 PM

Totino's brand frozen pizzas! Or Doritos! I could go on...

JJKLB08 | September 6, 2011 at 6:13 PM

I love Tortilla chips and Rotel. I can sit and eat and eat and eat that stuff until I'm sick I love it so much. It's pretty ridiculous

Christine | September 6, 2011 at 6:14 PM

The current one? I have a stash of Oreos that I'm hiding from my husband. He wouldn't be happy with me if he knew I was keeping them all to myself. But ALL my guilty pleasures lately seem to have sugar as the running theme.

Maggie | September 6, 2011 at 6:15 PM

My guilty pleasure is ALSO macaroni and cheese, but I go old school and love me some Kraft. That orange powder is totally delicious. Of course, the organic white cheddar powder is pretty good. Also: did you know that you can buy cheese powder in bulk? Not that I've done it...

Allison | September 6, 2011 at 6:15 PM

Toasted bread with butter & a ton of nutritional yeast.

withacapitalz | September 6, 2011 at 6:17 PM

i had to think about this one for awhile, because i'm pretty open about pretty much all of my favorite disgusting food (scrapple, breakfast hot pockets, pretty much any energy drink ever, the more sickeningly sweet the better, etc.).

i guess if we go by the "what i don't really want to admit to others regarding my eating habits" strategy, then, it'd have to be my disgusting ability to eat an entire bag of tortilla chips. even not very good brands... even stale ones! when i go out to mexican restaurants i have to make them take away the tortilla chips or i just keep eating and eating and eating.

Shannon | September 6, 2011 at 6:18 PM

I think Taco Bell's chicken crunchwrap supremes and cheesy fiesta potatoes are probably at the top of my guilty pleasure food list.

Aidan | September 6, 2011 at 6:24 PM

I like toasting white bread and slathering it with butter - as if that's not unhealthy enough - I top it with cinnamon sugar. It's so good! Creamy, crunchy and sugary. I only eat it at 3am when I'm alone because it's kind of embarrassing. xD

Ashe Mischief | September 6, 2011 at 6:24 PM

Oh man! The guilty food I love that I tell no one? Eeshhh, that's a hard one.

I eat Sweet Baby Ray's barbeque right off the spoon?

ljyoung85 | September 6, 2011 at 6:30 PM

Boxed mac and cheese....I actually prefer it over homemade! ljyoung85 at gmail.com

the chummy chocoholic | September 6, 2011 at 6:31 PM

Okay this is probably gross. I secretly looovvveee that Tostitos salsa con queso with Frito scoops!! Oh man...so yummy...but never will any friends know!

Vanessa and Stephen | September 6, 2011 at 6:31 PM

My guilty food pleasure kraft mac 'n cheese. I mean, powdered processed cheese? That stuff's practically radioactive...and yet...I just can't help myself sometimes.

Tintin | September 6, 2011 at 6:37 PM

Premade cookie dough in those little breakaway packages at the grocery store. My roommate and I can demolish one of those over the course of a few hours. A square for him, a square for me, salmonella for both of us, lol!

Jamie | September 6, 2011 at 6:37 PM

Macaroni and cheese. Any kind—Kraft? Amy's? Homemade? I'll order it in a fancy restaurant. I'm obsessed. It's kind of ridiculous and embarrassing! But I can't stop.

elisabeth . jw [ at ] gmail

jen phifer | September 6, 2011 at 6:37 PM

I love Hot Pockets. They are barely even real food, and whenever I eat them I inevitably think of comedian Jim Gaffigan. But I still eat them.

Kate | September 6, 2011 at 6:39 PM

Baked beans and mayonnaise sandwiches! It's a family thing...

Lisa@Pickles and Cheese | September 6, 2011 at 6:39 PM

I love Bon Appetite Magazine! Great giveaway! My guilty pleasure food would have to be Tostito's tortilla chips with guacamole and salsa. I could eat that every day.

Holly | September 6, 2011 at 6:39 PM

It's a tie between raw cookie dough (not even homemade - the kind that comes in the refrigerated tube!) and Nutella on a spoon. Obviously I have a bit of a sweet tooth.

Allie | September 6, 2011 at 6:41 PM

Anything with dark chocolate. Nutella, chocolate squares, etc. Especially love it in ice cream...

Morgan | September 6, 2011 at 6:44 PM

My guilty pleasure food is pizza. I live for it!

Jameil | September 6, 2011 at 6:46 PM

Taco Bell food. I love real Mexican food but Taco Bell shares a spot. This is shameful! I can't believe you got me to admit this for a magazine subscription! LOL

Pattie Reaves | September 6, 2011 at 6:46 PM

I love Tzatziki dip. Like, an unreasonable amount. Like, a whole 12 ounce container a week unreasonable ...

Idle Wife | September 6, 2011 at 6:54 PM

My guilty pleasure food is straight up cookie dough. I don't even care if there's egg in it. And it's even better straight from the freezer.

Makenzie | September 6, 2011 at 6:55 PM

Taylor pork roll!

Alys | September 6, 2011 at 6:57 PM

I do love mac and cheese too, but my all time guilty pleasure is Tostido queso dip with Tostido's white corn tortilla chips. I went through a lot of those when I was pregnant with my first baby. :)

Nora Lee | September 6, 2011 at 6:58 PM

Definitely nachos! Either homemade (basic: tortilla chips and cheese nuked for a minute) or from Qdoba. I just love their cheese sauce!

Patti | September 6, 2011 at 7:03 PM

Ohhh, so many - I was raised in a conservative, middle class, midwestern household and moved to the big city, so I pretend to have incredibly refined taste...but I melt a little inside at the guilty pleasures from my childhood, from before I knew they were guilty. The worst offenders are probably the cream-o-mushroom soup casseroles and various permutations - I know they're awful and awful for me and I would never try a *new* recipe, but the ones that my dad used to make? Heaven.

littleredheadgirl | September 6, 2011 at 7:06 PM

When I was little my dad would take my brother and I to KFC when ever my mom went out of town. It was a big secret in our family because my mom was all about super heathy cuisine and I'm still embarrassed to let people know I LOVE KFC.

Sara Murphy | September 6, 2011 at 7:08 PM

My guilty food pleasure is Dream Puff cookies (or I think the are called mallomars in the US)
Apparently a lot of people think they are gross, but how can you resist marshmallow chocolate and graham cracker??

Jessica | September 6, 2011 at 7:12 PM

Doritos...the ranch kind. I can't keep them in the house, otherwise, I'd eat the whole bag!

db | September 6, 2011 at 7:18 PM

cashews.

I can finish the whole bag in one day and get sick the next day and still want to eat more.

Rachel | September 6, 2011 at 7:19 PM

Chef Boyardee Ravioli's with buttered bread to dip in the sauce.

Camara | September 6, 2011 at 7:19 PM

twizzlers. i don't know why, since they're waxy and taste a bit like chapstick, but there is something about them that is so addictive!!

hali | September 6, 2011 at 7:22 PM

Cake of any kind is my weakness........yummmmmm cake

Meister @ The Nervous Cook | September 6, 2011 at 7:25 PM

I might not agree with you about Velveeta (I've never liked it, for some reason), it's wild that you would talk about it tonight, because I just made my husband his favorite dish from childhood: Macaroni & cheese with bacon gravy.

As for me, though, my guiltiest pleasure is eating cottage cheese -- covered in salt and pepper -- with potato chips. Man, I can clean out a whole bag of chips in one sitting that way. Sigh…

Marie | September 6, 2011 at 7:29 PM

There was no question what mine was as soon as you asked: annie's mac n' cheese and whatever fried chicken they put out in the grocery deli. Whenever my husband is out of town for a long business trip, I buy an 8-piece fried chicken pack, a bunch of boxes of annie's mac n'cheese, extra cheese and I'm golden. What's worse is that I'm lactose intolerant.

elysemelon | September 6, 2011 at 7:30 PM

I really really love buffalo wings. I love how messy they are, and I have no shame chowing down on them in a bar with my fiancee

Mmm... is for Mommy | September 6, 2011 at 7:42 PM

A jar of Nutella and a bag of salty pretzels. Heaven. Shhh!

Amber | September 6, 2011 at 7:53 PM

Ben and Jerry's chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream. I could pretty much eat the entire carton...

Mamie Jiang | September 6, 2011 at 7:53 PM

Deep fried Vietnamese imperial rolls with sweet fish sauce. Believe me, they are *nothing* like regular Chinese egg rolls. I'm heating some up in the toaster oven as we speak. Drooool.

Kathryn | September 6, 2011 at 7:58 PM

Cherry pie filling - no pie crust required.

lauren | September 6, 2011 at 8:04 PM

SPAM! So good in so many ways.

bethgetsittogether | September 6, 2011 at 8:13 PM

Omg! My weakness is also Velveeta Shells and Cheese. I can eat a whole box of that bad boy in one sitting, by myself, with no breaks. SO GOOD!

Laura | September 6, 2011 at 8:14 PM

hidden valley ranch dressing. 'nuff said.

Fragmentary Green | September 6, 2011 at 8:19 PM

Eating habits I will never admit to: eating salt straight out of the shaker, eating that mass-produced salsa con queso from a jar.

Bec | September 6, 2011 at 8:22 PM

I'm glad I'm not the only one with a thing for air popped popcorn. But I cover mine in olive oil, dill, salt and nutritional yeast (yeah vegan cheese). I will eat a huge bowl full for an entire meal....but only if my husband isn't home. He says it makes him gag. Oh well his loss...more for ME :)

Anonymous | September 6, 2011 at 8:31 PM

My guilty food pleasure is raw cake batter. This is repulsive for a multitude of reasons; obviously it is unhealthy for you, raw egg and sugar and all that. But people like cake batter flavored ice cream, so why not just have the original? Anyway, I ONLY eat this when I am alone, and will be alone for a day or two (because you can't eat the whole thing in one sitting, and you CANNOT throw the leftover batter away!)

Hannah | September 6, 2011 at 8:33 PM

LAuren | September 6, 2011 at 8:33 PM

Those really cheap, overly processed cheese balls that come in a giant tub. I rarely get them, but they are sooo delicious!

Bemaha | September 6, 2011 at 8:33 PM

Graham crackers smeared with chocolate frosting. Like, the gross, super cheap frosting in a can. I CAN'T HELP IT!

Aldebrana | September 6, 2011 at 8:44 PM

I know someone said this before, but the crispy skin off the chicken really is a guilty pleasure of mine. I also like rice with butter and soy sauce when I'm at home sick. Nothing in there to make me better, but hey! everyone needs a "sick food".

Carmen | September 6, 2011 at 8:49 PM

i love barbara's jalapeno cheese curls!

Angela | September 6, 2011 at 8:55 PM

Ricotta with salt. I don't need anything else. Yummm

Caroline | September 6, 2011 at 8:57 PM

My guilty pleasure: pizza rolls. They are probably the only things I eat that make me feel bad about myself. But I love them. I do.

Anonymous | September 6, 2011 at 9:05 PM

Apple pie...for every meal until it's gone!

lindsay | September 6, 2011 at 9:07 PM

My guilty pleasure is any kind of cheese. I love it and (too often) cover all of my meals in cheese. Cheddar, goat, mozzarella, havarti, Brie, feta... any kind, I love it.

Meghan | September 6, 2011 at 9:09 PM

My guilty pleasure? Cold Brown Sugar Poptarts dipped in OJ. Or Peanutbutter Filled Pretzel nuggets. Those are seriously like crack!

Mindy D | September 6, 2011 at 9:14 PM

So hard to pick just one, but probably Fritos with Velveeta + Rotel tomatoes dip. Fritos are bad enough, but add in the Velveeta dip and it's just plain naughty (but delicious)!

Katie | September 6, 2011 at 9:17 PM

Strawberry pop-tarts. No shame!

foodiePrints | September 6, 2011 at 9:18 PM

My guilty pleasure: McDonald's chicken nuggets and fries. Yes, I know what goes in the fryer oil. Yes, I know there are better ways to eat chicken. Yes, I've had fries fried in duck fat. Yes, I've had triple fried glassy fries. Still, I grew up in the 80s. There's something to be said about media conditioning when it comes to food...Sadly :(

violabec | September 6, 2011 at 9:24 PM

Eating...

Um, well my guilty pleasure is pickles (ok, I know sodium) and extra spicy salsa (it counteracts the salt, right?) chopped up with some red onion.........

Catie | September 6, 2011 at 9:26 PM

French fries from McDonald's!

Tonya | September 6, 2011 at 9:50 PM

My guilty pleasure is definitely McDonalds. And not just their salads either. The nuggets, the fries, the shakes, the pies. I eat at great restraurants, fast food and sit-downs, so I never go to Mickey's, but I still don't mind it.

Tiffany | September 6, 2011 at 9:54 PM

My weirdest food thing is McDonalds french fries and nuggets dipped in honey, or ranch dressing. I'm not all that guilty about it. I try to get everyone to try, you all should try the honey its fantastic.
Tiffany

Camille | September 6, 2011 at 10:01 PM

I love Coca-Cola. LOVE IT. I stopped buying it for the house because I would guzzle it all day long! And it's so AWFUL for me! Oh, well!

Anne N. | September 6, 2011 at 10:02 PM

I love Oreos with peanut butter. I really don't like either food by itself but there's just something about their combination that drives me nuts. I would eat a row of Oreos by myself if I didn't care about the sugar and fat.

Valérie | September 6, 2011 at 10:05 PM

Cream cheese! I could eat it straight out of the little box with a spoon.

Kelly | September 6, 2011 at 10:12 PM

Snickerdoodles - if I make it... I'll eat the whole batch, not all at once mind you, but it'll take me less than a week to finish it. I try giving them away but....

Lauren | September 6, 2011 at 10:16 PM

Peanut butter straight from the jar

Audrey Bond | September 6, 2011 at 10:19 PM

Most of you may not have heard of this, basically double up on your cholesterol meds and then dig in: it's called Oreilles de crisse (french translated to ears of Christ). It's not ears, nor is it religious unless you pray to the God of Pork/bacon. It's like smoked then deep fried pig skin... http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oreilles_de_crisse AND yes, you feel like cursing after, but it's oh so worth it!

Kelly | September 6, 2011 at 10:22 PM

I have to sneak snickerdoodles cookies because I'm overweight as it is so I'm embarrassed to be caught eating something so unhealthy, and SO good.

Allison | September 6, 2011 at 10:24 PM

i would eat hellman's mayo and pretzel stick sandwiches on dollar rolls from schnucks (a st. louis grocery chain) every day if it wouldn't kill me

Rachel | September 6, 2011 at 10:25 PM

Nacho cheese doritos. I can pretty much eat the whole bag. It's disgusting.

Caitlin | September 6, 2011 at 10:47 PM

I have 2 guilty food items... Cheetos and Taco Bell. I probably eat one of these about once a month, and definitely try to hide it. My husband makes fun of me for liking both of them but sometimes indulges with me. :)

Jen | September 6, 2011 at 10:50 PM

McDonald's Chicken Nuggets! I know they are essentially nasty mechanically separated chicken pieces that are smooshed back together, breaded, and deep fried in who knows what kind of oil, but they are so delicious. My favorite sauce for them is the sweet n'sour....don't know why, it's kind of nontraditional nugget sauce but I LOVE IT!!!

Jessica | September 6, 2011 at 10:51 PM

I think my guilty pleasure would be ramen (no additions just straight cheap ramen package). Sometimes it just hits the spot even though those cheap packages have bad ingredients in them.

Nobby | September 6, 2011 at 10:57 PM

Dangit, mine is also velveeta mac and cheese. I will have to think of another...

I guess it's scones. But not awesome scones, but scones that my school sells at their coffee shop, which are literally 900 calories each. And yet I keep buying them...

Anonymous | September 6, 2011 at 11:00 PM

Eating a whole chocolate bar, the good kind, in one sitting and enjoying every single bite. I don't share!

Sharon | September 6, 2011 at 11:00 PM

Nothing too embarrassing here, but I do love me some Kraft Dinner and/or Ramen noodles on occasion. I know they're filled with chemicals, but oh my LANTA is it ever tasty from time to time. ;)

Daniela-ela-ela-eh! | September 6, 2011 at 11:10 PM

It's pickles, and it's not so embarrassing to admit it, only embarrassing when I socialize after eating them. Hello garlic and vinegar breath! Sometimes it really pays to live alone and enjoy your favourite foods in peace!

:::d::: | September 6, 2011 at 11:20 PM

Those damn pies. You know, the ones wrapped in wax paper, usually in the bread aisle. My favorite flavor is chocolate.

amberpepe | September 6, 2011 at 11:26 PM

Stevi B's Pizza Buffet in general, but more specifically their alfredo sauce. Its weird grayish-white coloring should be a clear warning not to eat it, but I can't help myself.

Kateball | September 6, 2011 at 11:45 PM

Fried bologna sandwiches! Bologna is delicious, cheap, and comes in packages that look nearly identical to a pack of blank cd's. How awesome is that? Fry a few slices and top with cheese. Since we're eating garbage meat, we're not going to get fancy with our cheese either. American "cheese" has excellent melting capabilities. Slide that mess in between two slices of bread, sit down to an episode of Roseanne and you're good to go!

Lauren | September 7, 2011 at 12:06 AM

Grilled cheese sandwiches, with the soft white squishy bread and the american cheese that comes in plasticky squares!

JJDelite | September 7, 2011 at 12:07 AM

Mine is saltine crackers with ketchup. Try it! It kinda grows on you after a while.... flashback to childhood.

Phuong | September 7, 2011 at 1:09 AM

I have a thing for hot Cheetos. I know they're a scary, unnatural red color, but I find them so addicting!

Claire | September 7, 2011 at 5:24 AM

frozen waffles with peanut butter. and I let my kids eat them too. breakfast of champions! at least it's got protein, right?

Ben | September 7, 2011 at 5:25 AM

Cheap canned Dolmas from my local armenian grocery. Not fresh by a long shot, these grape leaves stuffed with rice are shelf stable and... slimy, for lack of a better word. Yet I think they're strangely delectable and highly addictive- I eat them straight from the can.

Vanessa | September 7, 2011 at 5:43 AM

My guilty food pleasure is sticky toffee pudding.. soft, crumbly and warm soaked in a buttery, toffee sauce with a drizzle of fresh double cream. To die for!

Kelsea | September 7, 2011 at 6:09 AM

My guilty pleasure food is Kraft Mac and Cheese, cooked my way... undercooked, lots of butter, even more milk, so it's more like cheddar cheese noodle soup.

emily | September 7, 2011 at 6:35 AM

Pop Tarts. Yeah, I said it.

Blogging the Box | September 7, 2011 at 6:52 AM

Strawberry Hostess cupcakes. *Drooool*

kathleen b | September 7, 2011 at 6:56 AM

I love baseball stadium nachos and cheese....yummm!!! So bad for you, but so delicious!

Jen@thecraftingfiend | September 7, 2011 at 7:36 AM

guilty food pleasure... would be peanut butter and raisins on celery sticks. I love anything peanut butter but my husband would make fun of me hardcore for putting it on celery and eating with raisins - but I LOVE the combo - sweet, salty, crunchy. yum!

Jen | September 7, 2011 at 7:39 AM

Ruffles Hot Wing potato chips. I force myself to not even think about them, once a bag is open it rarely is around for more than two or three days.

Ali W | September 7, 2011 at 7:47 AM

A nostalgic food combination that I do everything in my power not to think about is Cheeto's Flaming Hots and cream cheese. It sounds gross to everyone that I have ever told it to, but the spicy creaminess of the them together make me feel like I'm back in high school.

whileshedreams | September 7, 2011 at 7:58 AM

Spaghettios, only because they remind me of my childhood. They always sound good but then I immediately regret eating them. Normally I am a pretty healthy eater, I don't buy a lot of pre-processed frozen meals etc. and I pride myself on that, so this is a really naughty, embarrassing food for me.

Anonymous | September 7, 2011 at 7:59 AM

My guilty please is Brie cheese...I have to get a huge chunk of cheese along with a good bread and purple grapes and i sit down and enjoy. Once you start eating Brie you can't stop. It is so rich and creamy! Of course i have to have a glass of wine with it as well :)

For some reason, even though I know it has fourteen ingredients and most of them are either bizarre or really bad for me, I secretly love a Wendy's Frosty. I pretty much managed to cure myself of this by eating one right before I came down with (unrelated) food poisoning, though.

DLin | September 7, 2011 at 8:31 AM

Macdonald's breakfast. I feel bad picking up a sausage mcmuffin with egg instead of a healthy whole wheat bagel from the local bagel place next door- but they are yummy!

Cari | September 7, 2011 at 8:35 AM

Rocky road ice cream! The first 6 months of my marriage my husband was on the other side of the country training in the military, and I would eat it almost every night. He still doesn't know, you see he's allergic to nuts so now I can't buy :( but I can get a small ben and jerrys version and eat it right up before he gets home and finds out I spent $5 on ice cream lol ;) Don't judge..Whats a girl to do when her hubby is allergic to her favorite things and doesn't even like chocolate!?!

Pin | September 7, 2011 at 8:44 AM

all those little debbie snacks, especially the swiss rolls and oatmeal creme pies. they're so bad for you, but i get a craving for them every once in a while. and then i end up eating a whole box in one sitting.

angieclaus | September 7, 2011 at 8:50 AM

panda express orange chicken. seriously dangerous.

mrs. huckabee | September 7, 2011 at 8:52 AM

ice cream...not just ice cream, but ice cream with Magic Shell allllll over it! not a good one for the waistline ;)

Leftover Crab Rangoons from the chinese food restaurant. I don't even bother heating them up - I just eat them cold. LOVE THEM!

Hands-down french fries dipped in ranch. I could eat a vat of both. It's a blessing and a curse.

sarahspy | September 7, 2011 at 9:02 AM

frozen Elios pizza! the shame...

(sarahspyblog@gmail.com)

Corncob | September 7, 2011 at 9:03 AM

Tacos from Jack in the Box. They may look nice on TV, but they look like a deep fried turd in person.....and at 2am they taste glorious with some hot sauce.

Jeff K | September 7, 2011 at 9:10 AM

Mozzarella Sticks, homemade or anywhere I can get them

Helen | September 7, 2011 at 9:11 AM

I really love plain white pasta with butter and salt. It must be a childhood thing. Seriously, though, everyone makes fun of me. ;)

rachelmakesbakes | September 7, 2011 at 9:11 AM

Probably my biggest guilty food pleasures are processed, packaged foods: boxed mac and cheese, velveeta/rotel cheese dip, frozen french bread pizzas.

Flight Attendant Extraordinaire | September 7, 2011 at 9:12 AM

Cheez-its. Definitely Cheez-its. I remain convinced that they lace the box with crack because I canNOT stop eating them once I start.

Kimberly | September 7, 2011 at 9:17 AM

Soo bad for you but I really love fudge round little debbie snacks. I haven't had one in years! Also, oreos! Who doesn't like oreos! They have high fructose corn syrup in them :(

Ari | September 7, 2011 at 9:18 AM

Peanut butter, just on a spoon.

Gina | September 7, 2011 at 9:22 AM

Cake batter. When i was a (fat) teenager i used to make batches of cake batter without the egg, put portions into tupperware and bring them with me for a snack. I didn't even use a spoon, i just scooped with my finger. Ew! But yummmmmm!

Ivy | September 7, 2011 at 9:37 AM

Instant ramen. It's my ultimate comfort food. But I dress mine up with sesame oil, fresh spinach, chopped scallions and and lightly poach the egg in the broth. It's like high-low gourmet.

suze | September 7, 2011 at 9:38 AM

My guilty pleasure food is Nutella. Either spread on toast or eaten directly from the jar. I love it. Which is why it can never be in my house.

Gabi | September 7, 2011 at 9:38 AM

It's awful, but I love bar food. I will totally eat anything beer battered and deep fried with a pint of said beer. It's my personal favorite way to relax with friends after work.

Adam Cohen | September 7, 2011 at 9:40 AM

My guilty pleasure is......Best Foods Mayonnaise. Its great for like, everything. It's a super food.
*a quick salad dressing
*browning the outside of a melted cheese sandwich
*making my grandmothers dry chicken palatable
*everything else

Anonymous | September 7, 2011 at 9:42 AM

Sweet condensed milk. Right in the can. With a big spoon. Yummy! Dulce de leche is not bad neither!

Kristina | September 7, 2011 at 9:43 AM

I love sea salt and vinegar chips (Tim's Cascade brand only)! I could eat the whole bag of them

blindgrrl | September 7, 2011 at 9:43 AM

My guilty food pleasure: Haagen Dazs Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough ice cream. It's delish. Rich. Creamy. Just the right amount of chewy... :-P. It makes me feel guilty because for the past year or so, I've been eating a lot healthfully, which includes eating more organic foods. The hormones + antibiotics that are injected into poor cows freak me out, which is the only thing that keeps me from buying HDCCCD ice cream now. It is tough though, because as good as some organic ice cream brands can taste, there's still nothing quite like Haagen Dazs (and I mean that specific flavor!) However, it seems like they're phasing out that flavor, as I don't ever see it anymore... :-(... but also :-) because it's one less temptation! Cheers ^_^

Anonymous | September 7, 2011 at 9:45 AM

Oh goodness, where do I start. Chicken McNuggets, potato skins, cheese balls from my favorite college bar, and frozen yogurt!

PrairieGreenIrene | September 7, 2011 at 9:48 AM

My guiltiest guilty pleasure is drinking espresso way too late in the evening and most likely combining it with a buttery, sugary, flaky pastry. With more butter.

Ashley | September 7, 2011 at 9:52 AM

I am addicted to Cheetos :)

Joe | September 7, 2011 at 9:57 AM

Mine would have to be fresh homemade tortillas with bologna and cheese, this goes back to the days as a kid at my grandma's house. She always had fresh made tortillas and beans, and when there were no beans I would reach for the bologna and cheese.

Matt. | September 7, 2011 at 9:59 AM

Hot sauce. I put it on EVERYTHING, even in my beer.

Emily | September 7, 2011 at 10:03 AM

Ramen. I just love Ramen.

Robyn | September 7, 2011 at 10:08 AM

A spoonful of Nutella, straight from the jar.

Emily S | September 7, 2011 at 10:09 AM

Oreos! Can't get enough of them. Also, recently developed an addiction to frozen dark chocolate covered banana slices.

Christina | September 7, 2011 at 10:10 AM

My guilty pleasure eat is a classic Italian sub on delicious bread with all the Italian lunchmeant that is so bad for you - salami, proscuitto, cappiolla, supersada, etc. Just yum.

erinmarie | September 7, 2011 at 10:11 AM

I have two: Cinnamon Toast Crunch (I normally hate sugary cereal, but I cannot be trusted with a box of this stuff, or I'll eat the entire thing and not feel a speck of remorse) and sausage and cheese biscuits from McDonalds. I'm so ashamed...yet I feel liberated now that it's out in the open! ;)

Katie | September 7, 2011 at 10:15 AM

Mayonnaise and butter... I'm a dipper and I will dip just about anything into a concoction with mayo as a base... I've also been known to eat pats of butter... Wow! I'm headed towards an early death.

Liz | September 7, 2011 at 10:17 AM

Toaster Strudel. SO bad for me, but SO delicious. Oh, and cream cheese-filled jalapeno poppers. YUM!

marisa | September 7, 2011 at 10:18 AM

Making Spam musubi!

Lexi | September 7, 2011 at 10:25 AM

Breyer's Black Raspberry Chocolate Ice Cream. I literally have some every day- sometimes twice. Very. Bad. Habit. I also secretly love butter, coconut oil, and cream cheese individually- all by themselves.

Charlotte | September 7, 2011 at 10:33 AM

Outback Steakhouse cheese fries with bacon dipped in ranch dressing. Probably one of the worst things for you but they are SO AMAZINGLY GOOD! A couple years ago, my friend wrapped up a to-go box of them and jokingly gave it to me as Christmas gift. Even though the fries were a day old and we were having dinner in Mexican restaurant at the time, I have to admit that I immediately opened them up and started eating some!

Robin Leah | September 7, 2011 at 10:38 AM

I grew up having potato chips with ice cream. The salty and the sweet combined is yummy. Have also been know to dip Macdonald's fries into my hot fudge sundae. sounds gross but i do enjoy it.

Kara Lane | September 7, 2011 at 10:50 AM

a BIG bowl of moosetracks ice-cream!

Jess | September 7, 2011 at 10:50 AM

My guilty food pleasure: taco bell. This is especially shameful because I am vegan. The couple times I have eaten something outside of my veganism, my downfall has been this wonderful combination of the same 6 ingredients 75 different ways. Bad, I know. But I just admitted it.

Anonymous | September 7, 2011 at 10:54 AM

I like to break thin pretzels into vanilla ice cream and I get a craving at least every other month for a McDonald's breakfast sandwich.

Diana P. | September 7, 2011 at 10:55 AM

my guilty food pleasure is weird sweet/salty combos. My favorite: green olives and then chocolate chips. When I was seeing a dietician and logging my food, she asked me if I was pregnant when she saw that!

Sarah | September 7, 2011 at 10:55 AM

So many... Marshmallow candy bananas (or, even better, marshmallow banana strawberry seashells)... Or, movie theatre "nachos" (chips with creepy orange cheese). sarahtrottier@hotmail.com

Rita | September 7, 2011 at 10:55 AM

My guilty pleasure is baby lima beans. I think I'm the only person in the world who loves lima beans, because every time I admit to it, people tell me I'm crazy. But I could easily eat a whole pound of them at once!

Anonymous | September 7, 2011 at 10:56 AM

I love chips and salsa as meal!

shorty | September 7, 2011 at 10:57 AM

I hate to admit it but TACO BELL!!ack! I was raised by a single Mom who worked alot. My brother and I loved taco bell and with it being cheap and easy we ate it alot. We both were elite athletes so we could eat a lot of food without gaining any weight, not so much now, darn you Taco Bell!hahaha

Susan Audrey | September 7, 2011 at 11:03 AM

Mine is Oreos. Whenever I am sad, Oreos are a must for cheering up. I can't cheer up with chocolate chip cookies, or sandies, or vanilla wafers, or fig newtons. It must be Oreos. I swear they have some kind of happy chemical in them. Thanks for the very nice giveaway!

Zombie Queen | September 7, 2011 at 11:12 AM

Nutella and marshmallow fluff by the spoonful

Paula | September 7, 2011 at 11:26 AM

Mine is Ben and Jerry's Ice cream any flavor !

Jennifer | September 7, 2011 at 11:27 AM

Of my many guilty pleasure I will share but one...I absolutely love and dream about a product from a local butcher shop - cheese 'n' onion wieners. They are exactly what they sound like, and when you cook them the cheese and onion inside of them melts and gets all gooey. What makes this even more guilt-ridden for me? I'm a vegetarian. :)

Also when I eat them I like to smear the bun with a heap of mayonnaise and relish. It doesn't get any more guilty than that!

Kimberly Sinclair | September 7, 2011 at 11:32 AM

My Guilty Pleasure is chocolate Hostess Donettes!

Mariah | September 7, 2011 at 11:39 AM

I'll stop at a fast food joint on the way home and order a small french fries and then quickly eat it before I get home and hide the evidence!

Christopher | September 7, 2011 at 11:52 AM

Alright, I confess. This lover of gastronomy and sorts of culinary delights secretly loves (and eats regularly) Kraft Mac 'n Cheese with a can of tuna fish mixed in. It's my go-to late night, power-boosting food.

Leanne | September 7, 2011 at 11:55 AM

I'm pretty open with people about what I eat, but as far as things I feel guilty about eating, pizza and soda are the biggies. I feel like if I had to I could eat pizza every day for the rest of forever. And I can down a can of soda more quickly than I'd like to admit.

Kicken Bejos | September 7, 2011 at 11:55 AM

My guilty pleasure (which usually only occurs during a moment of weakness at the grocery, after the gym, which of course negates the whole point)is a doughnut and chocolate milk :)

yardsailor | September 7, 2011 at 11:57 AM

Shh, don't tell, cold baked bean sandwiches on white bread with lots of butter.

Elizabeth | September 7, 2011 at 11:58 AM

Smores made in the microwave. I love to watch the marshmallow puff up in the oven. I like to make them with dark chocolate rather than milk. In a pinch if out of graham crackers have made them with chow mein noodles and soda crackers. Dipping the finished creation in peanut butter is for those really needy times.

Amanda | September 7, 2011 at 11:59 AM

I will admit to loving Buffalo Wing flavors - on anything.

Anonymous | September 7, 2011 at 11:59 AM

Bacon! Or any meal that includes bacon in some way shape or form.

-Annika

The Procrastobaker | September 7, 2011 at 12:05 PM

Guilty food pleasure..well I do stuff dorito's in my face like they are going out of fashion if given the chance, and cottage cheese is a random one that I get the urge for pretty much every night before bed!

Nicole | September 7, 2011 at 12:15 PM

My guilty pleasure is popcorn with lots of butter and salt. Sometimes I even add butter to microwaved popcorn, which is just awful. Soo good though!

Lauren | September 7, 2011 at 12:17 PM

My food guilty pleasure is similar to yours, but I'm all about Kraft Mac 'n Cheese in the blue box, but not the regular kind--only spirals or cartoon-shaped. I swear that they taste different than the regular macaroni-shaped noodles. They just seem to hold cheese better!!

Anonymous | September 7, 2011 at 12:17 PM

My guilt pleasure is ice cream. I don't allow myself to buy it because when it comes to that cold and creamy goodness I have no self control. If I do buy a pint, it will be gone that evening. Yikes! I think I'll stick to rice and vegetables.

-John

Kirsten Hrobsky | September 7, 2011 at 12:25 PM

Cheese is my kryptonite and I don't mean bland slices or babybelle. Give me some of that blue, a triple cream or anything else that's ridiculously stinky. I have books about cheese, have attended cheese conferences and when not busy consuming it, I've even found myself lost in a cheese shop with my eyes closed, just inhaling the aromas. I feel very guilty after eating the first 1/4 pound or so but there's no way I'm ever stopping.

Crystal | September 7, 2011 at 1:06 PM

I sneak mouthfuls of caramel ice cream topping from the fridge. Don't tell my husband. He thinks I'm anti-sugar.

Leeza | September 7, 2011 at 1:15 PM

Smarties candy..I know, I'm like a child. I pretty much never admit liking them to anyone. Also, if they're around, I'll eat like 20. At least.

Julie | September 7, 2011 at 1:21 PM

I'm a little embarrassed to admit that I love cut up hot dogs with Kraft Mac & Cheese. SO terrible for you but my dad always made that for my sister and me when we were kids and mom had to work late so I love it. :))

Rebecca | September 7, 2011 at 1:59 PM

I love to drink Soy Sauce and Balsamic Vinegar, They are sooo good!

Jennifer | September 7, 2011 at 2:09 PM

Definitely box mac & cheese (or as my Buffalonian husband calls it, Kraft Dinner)--oh, and I also have a thing for Lucky Charms.

Jackie Welling | September 7, 2011 at 2:16 PM

DUNFORD DONUTS. The Chocolate covered chocolate cake donut. ABSOLUTELy insanely good, it is like frosting. I'd love to win this!

classycleverchic dot blogspot dot com!!! :)

Sherry | September 7, 2011 at 2:21 PM

Mine are really bizarre: Wendy's vanilla frosty (awful, I know), Dairy Queen vanilla soft-serve ice cream (no other ice cream will do), triscuit crackers and truly massive quantities of green peas (frozen or fresh, not canned) with margarine.

I also have an unhealthy obsession with vanilla yogurt, but only if it is eaten one spoonful at a time straight from the tub, like I'm sneaking it (for the record, I'm the only person at my house who even eats yogurt, so it's stealing from myself, I guess).

Tasha | September 7, 2011 at 2:26 PM

Mine is Natural White Cheddar Cheetos. Just because they are "natural" doesn't mean they are good for me. My 3 year old begs us to buy them, and on occasion we do, I then I have to force myself not to eat the entire bag.

Anonymous | September 7, 2011 at 2:38 PM

I love Pizza combos. I know they aren't good for me or have the best pizza taste. But I love them!

Doritos! I'm ashamed, to admit that... But I can hoover down a whole bag easy...

BACON. I've been a vegetarian for 4 years and the only meat I ever miss is bacon. Once a year I allow myself to order the fried green tomatoes from my local diner (covered in bacon, blue cheese, and a mild horseradish sauce). Just talking about it is making my mouth water. It's almost that time of year again...

Doris Pop | September 7, 2011 at 4:53 PM

Funny that you used Velveeta for your own example-- I LOVE Velveeta macaroni and cheese! Every time I eat it, my stomach is happy for the rest of the week. I also love the fried cheese curds at A&W restaurants. Most people here on the west coast think, "cheese curds? That sounds gross!!" But I was born and raised in Wisconsin, so I love love love cheese curds.
