magazine GIVEAWAY!

Because I don't have another day off to cook until Friday, I thought I'd do a little giveaway to keep everyone entertained!
I have decided to give away three (3) one year subscriptions to Bon Appetit magazine. I love this magazine because it is a great mix of simple food and adventurous, exciting cuisine. I look forward to my copy coming in the mail every month (thanks to my generous friend, Jeffrey) and I hope you will too!
I'm testing out a new contest widget below. It should make the giveaway process a lot easier and a lot more fun! To enter the giveaway you have to answer one question:
What is your guilty food pleasure?
And by that I mean the items you enjoy when no one is looking... the things that you're embarrassed to say that you actually like. Here is mine: Velveeta Shells n' Cheese. I'm scared to death of Velveeta, but I still secretly love the mac n' cheese. That may be the first time I've every told anyone. Ever.
You can also earn extra entries by either liking Budget Bytes on Facebook, or tweeting about the contest.
Here are the rules:
- All entries need to be submitted through the buttons on the widget below or else they won't be counted!
- The first entry (leaving a blog comment) is mandatory and must be completed before earning other entries.
- The winners must be willing to provide a valid mailing address to receive the prize. I will not use your address for any other purpose.
- The contest will be open from 12:01 AM 9/6/11 TO 12:01 AM 9/10/11 (Eastern Standard Time)
- Keep it clean. Any offensive entries will be deleted.
So, sit back, fess up, and enjoy reading the entries!
You can check the status of your entries and the final winners by checking back to this original post.

My guilty food pleasures is baking frozen fries with Tony Chachere's on top, and then sprinkling them with a ton of cheddar cheese, and then eating them with the spicy Heinz ketchup. Oh God so yummy and so not good for me. I do it on Friday nights for dinner if I don't have other plans.

The steak fries at Red Robin dipped in their honey mustard sauce. I make sure I order something with bottomless fries and ask for an extra basket of fries before my meal comes. This is also the main reason I avoid Red Robin these days. :)

I was helping my little bro move out of his college dorm this summer and one of his roomies had left behind some packages -- they came home with me :)

Stouffer's bistro crustinis, the meatball and parmesan or the philly cheese steak. I usually buy them only when on sale, because they are quite expensive for my budget. Maybe you should do a budgetbytes version?

Okay, my guiltiest guilt pleasure (I say that because I have multiple guilty pleasures!) is McDonald's french fries. Ooh, those things are addictive. I secretly died inside when they did away with the "Supersize" portion. I don't indulge this guilty pleasure often because I value life, but of man, if I was my last day on earth... you know where I'd be. :-P

Gushers. You know, the kids candy/snack. I feel like adults aren't suppose to even buy these unless they have a kid or two, which I don't. So I always feel awkward when I'm in the check-out line because when the craving hits, I tend to stock up.

Ginger ale, which I can't resist if it's in the house. Have to admit I do brag occasionally about how healthy I am for abstaining from drinking soda most of the time, so for me it's a guilty pleasure. Something about ginger ale being good for settling stomachs makes it "seem" like it's not just sugar water, but... yeah, it totally is.

Corn dogs! I'm usually a pretty healthy eater, with a natural love for wholesome food, but corn dogs are my Achilles' Heel. Salty, crispy, greasy corn dogs smothered in ketchup. And they have to come from a fair or carnival, otherwise it's just not the same. Blinking lights, carousel music, and the sound of delighted screaming really adds to the experience

Crushed raw ramen noodles. I know it's awful. I like to crush up the noodles and then put the seasoning packet in and shake it all up. I learned about it actually from a friend of mine, but i hardly ever do it because everyone else i know thinks it's weird. I'lll eat it before chips or popcorn.
